New York Youth Organizer and MCN Youth Leadership Fellow Samira Tahsoon is the Child Representative from the US at GNRC 6th Forum in Abu Dhabi.

Samira Tahsoon, a passionate youth advocate and community organizer from New York, will attend the 6th Forum of the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC), held in Abu Dhabi. Samira’s participation highlights her ongoing commitment to fostering peace, mental
Health awareness, interfaith dialogue, and social justice on a global scale.

Samira Tahsoon is a Youth Community Organizer of “Save the People”, an initiative aimed at empowering marginalized communities through education, advocacy, and grassroots action. Her work focuses on amplifying the voices of underserved youth and promoting equitable access to resources.

As an MCN (Muslim Community Network) Young Leadership Fellow, Samira has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Her efforts emphasize the intersection of education and social equity, making her a vital contributor to her community. 

The GNRC 6th Forum brings together youth leaders, religious communities, and global policymakers to address pressing issues such as child protection, peacebuilding, and ethical education. This year’s theme focuses on empowering young people to drive sustainable change and create solutions for a better future.

Samira’s key role at the Forum is advocating for increased youth representation in decision-making processes related to peace and sustainability.

“I believe uplifting the voices of the youth will echo towards creating a better future. The GNRC Sixth Forum is of means to creating a safer, more secure and sustainable world for children and it is unique in the sense that it directly involves children, the matter at discussion, to highlight their opinions and views. Empowering children and the youth is an investment towards creating a better future for everyone around the world, so bringing together children from different countries to one discussion and one global stage is the first big step towards world peace and collaboration." - Samira 

Samira’s representation at the Forum underscores the growing role of young leaders in shaping a peaceful and inclusive future.
